Current UniversalStreams features

Flexible Twitch and Kick notifications without the manual work

UniversalStreams is focused on reliable stream posting and practical server configuration. Each saved stream can be configured independently so different creators can use different channels, roles, messages, and cleanup behavior.

Twitch & Kick live alerts

Monitor configured creators on Twitch and Kick and automatically post when they go live.

Usernames or channel URLs

Add creators using their username or a supported Twitch/Kick channel URL, whichever is more convenient.

Custom live & offline messages

Configure your own live and offline/VOD text, including multiline messages using \n.

Up to two ping roles

Assign up to two optional Discord roles per stream so the right members are notified when a creator goes live.

Rich stream embeds

Live notifications use rich stream information instead of being limited to plain text messages.

Announcement publishing

Live posts sent to Discord announcement channels can be automatically published for following servers.

Cleanup & VOD handling

Keep the live message, remove it after the stream, or transition it to post-stream behavior. Twitch can point viewers to the newest VOD while Kick can keep the creator channel accessible.

Anti-flapping protection

Brief API or network instability is less likely to cause false offline handling or unnecessary notification changes.

Filtered & paginated lists

Manage larger setups with a stream list that supports platform filtering and pagination instead of one oversized response.

Server tiers

Start free and scale when your server needs more

Tier limits apply per Discord server. Administrators with Manage Server can use /stream tier to see the server's current tier, Twitch/Kick usage, and applicable limits.

How UniversalStreams works

Configure it in Discord and let the bot handle the rest

UniversalStreams keeps setup inside Discord. Once a server administrator adds a creator and chooses the stream settings, the bot handles monitoring and notification updates automatically.

1

Install UniversalStreams

Add the bot to a Discord server and give it access to the channels needed for notifications.

2

Add a Twitch or Kick creator

Use a username or supported channel URL, then choose the Discord channel, optional ping roles, messages, and cleanup mode.

3

Let UniversalStreams monitor it

When the creator goes live, UniversalStreams posts the configured alert and later applies your chosen offline/VOD behavior.

Built for persistent community configuration

UniversalStreams keeps server-specific stream settings persistently and includes reliability protections around platform status checks. If the bot is removed from a server, its configuration is retained for a short grace period of three days before cleanup, allowing the bot to be re-added without immediately losing the setup.

UniversalStreams FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the current Early Access version of UniversalStreams.

What is UniversalStreams?

UniversalStreams is an Early Access Discord bot by Mirntos Media that monitors configured Twitch and Kick creators and automatically posts stream notifications into selected Discord channels.

Which streaming platforms are supported?

Twitch and Kick are currently supported for active stream monitoring and notifications. YouTube support is still in development.

Can I add a creator using a link?

Yes. UniversalStreams accepts creator usernames as well as supported Twitch and Kick channel URLs.

How many roles can a stream ping?

Each stream can have up to two optional ping roles, allowing servers to notify more than one interested group.

What happens to the notification when a stream ends?

That depends on the stream's cleanup setting. The notification can remain unchanged, be removed, or use post-stream/VOD handling. Twitch can link to the newest VOD, while Kick post-stream handling can keep viewers directed to the creator's channel.

What are the Free, Premium and Unlimited tiers?

The Free tier allows up to 100 Twitch and 25 Kick stream configurations per Discord server. Premium raises those limits to 500 Twitch and 50 Kick, while Unlimited removes the configured-stream limits. Premium and Unlimited exist in the bot but do not yet have a public self-service purchase or upgrade flow.

How can I see my server's current tier and usage?

A server administrator with Manage Server can use /stream tier to view the current tier, Twitch and Kick usage, and the limits that apply to the server.

What is anti-flapping protection?

Anti-flapping protection reduces incorrect offline handling when a streaming-platform API or network connection briefly reports an unstable status.
